Ville Valo en declive

Me envían un link a un video del dueto entre Ville Valo y Natalia Avalon "Summer wine". La canción está bastante bien y el video, pos también, con una buena carga erótica para amenizar. La Natalia en cuestión exuda sexualidad hasta por las pestañas...

¿Se habrá puesto a componer Ville de nuevo? Pues no. La canción ya fuera originalmente interpretada por Nancy Sinatra y Lee Hazlewood. El video se puede encontrar en Youtube. El dueto ha sido interpretado, al menos, media docena de veces (incluyendo Andrea Corr con Bono, por ejemplo). Decepción...
Ville Valo es el frontman y cantante de la banda finlandesa HIM (acrónimo de His Infernal Majesty), que propone un estilo musical que ellos bautizaron como "Love Metal". Los fineses tienen muchas canciones memorables, aunque ninguna perteneciente a sus dos últimos trabajos, "Dark Light" y "Venus Doom", auténticas chufas, al igual que el pseudorecopilatorio "Uneasy listening vol.1" de título claramente premonitorio. El talento y la sugerente voz de barítono de Ville, magníficamente desaprovechados.
El señor Valo, reconocido alcohólico, lleva cinco años de sobriedad, eso dice. No es que quiera incitarle a volver al vicio, pero cuando llevaba una vida disipada, compuso grandes temas. Tómate unos chupitos de vez en cuando, coño, haz el favor...
Ya puestos, haremos un pequeño repaso a sus canciones imprescindibles. Abstenerse cuarentaprincipaleros, reaggetoners, subscriptores del canal latino y otras sopitas musicales avecrem. Esto no suena ni en los canales populares ni en los garitos de moda. En este país, claro.

Luego sigue una versión del "Wicked game" de Chris Isaak, pero me da bastante grima. A la colección tienen que ir: "Our diabolikal rapture", "It´s all tears", "The beginning of the end" y el cover de Blue Oyster Cult "The Reaper", en dueto con su esposa, Manna Mariam Jänti, quien le suele acomañar en las giras.

De "Deep shadows and brilliant highlights" (2001) hay que sacar: "Salt in our wounds", "Heartache every momen", "Lose you tonight" (si me tengo que quedar con una de toda la discografía, es con ésta"...
